About the Position: This position is at Naval Branch Health Clinic Mid-South, Millington, TN - serves as Supply Technician, Materials Management Department providing experienced technical guidance to the Officer in Charge and staff in carrying out the command mission. Mon-Fri, 0700-1600.

Duties

Responsible for acquisition of material to satisfy urgent, immediate and routing requests for Not in Stock (NIS), Non-Stocked Items (NSI), and automated stock buys. Procures supplies, equipment and services using the Government-wide commercial credit card up to the value of $2,500. Receives and exercises technical guidance over 100 percent of the supply requisitions at the clinic. Prepares expense operating budget with cost code accountability. Inputs, maintains and validates all supply/OPTAR transactions into several automated accounting systems. Reviews technical specifications of equipment and supplies submitted for accuracy and completeness and to determine the best method of procurement. Research requests for non-federally stocked items, (open purchase), for alternative lowest cost source.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Annual Influenza Vaccination is required.
• Immunizations is required.
• Secret Clearance required.
• Travel (TDY) outside of the commuting area may be required.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes procuring supplies, equipment and services using the government purchase card, acquisitioning of materials and routing requests for not in stock , non-stocked items and automated stock buys, reviewing technical specifications of equipment and supplies submitted for accuracy and completeness, preparing expense operating budgets and performing office automation work in support of the administrative processes and functions of the Supply Department, maintaining databases, and preparing routine reports.
