About the Position:
This position is located in Fort Moore Georgia.
Duties
Disinfects restrooms to include urinals, toilet bowls, and sinks. Dusts, waxes, and/or polishes furniture and fixtures.
Empties waste baskets.
Responsible for requesting cleaning supplies through Maintenance Supervisor.
Sets up and tears down for special events or assemblies.
Adjusts and/or performs minor maintenance to attachments on power equipment.
Ensures that needed materials and tools are available on site for workers to complete daily duties.
Responsible for closing school by following all security procedures.
Demonstrates proper work methods.
Responsible for ensuring that school is clean and ready for the next day.
Provides updates to supervisor on status and progress of work.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One year trial or probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability /fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Work may include assignments on first or second shift.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Custodial Worker Leader without more than normal supervision. Assign work to others; Use of variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions to remove different kinds of stains from a variety of surfaces including walls, floors and ceilings; operate, clean and adjust heavy powered cleaning equipment and perform a full range of general Janitorial duties at a facility that include sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting lavatories. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Occasionally uses heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial type buffers). Occasionally exerts moderately heavy physical effort such as that required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, requiring continuous standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Requires working on ladders/scaffold in the performance of some duties.
Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in areas which are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Care must be taken to avoid serious injury when working on ladders and scaffolds or when using heavy powered equipment.
All candidates must reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community.
