About the Position: Fort Gordon is in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) and future headquarters of ARMY CYBER COMMAND (ARCYBER). It is approximately 142 miles east of Atlanta, 80 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina and 122 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Ft Gordon's location offers close proximity to Atlanta, Savannah, the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains.
This is a TERM position not to exceed 13 months.
Duties
Coordinate with and provides technical assistance and advice to supported units/activities.
Monitor and assure the efficient operation of the food service program throughout the Installation.
Consolidates and submits Quarterly Food Cost and Feeding Strength Summary Report as required by regulation.
Reviews and analyzes statistical data concerning the overspent/under-spent status of dining facility accounts.
Provides assistance to the Command Inspector General on food service inquiries, Army Food Service Program, areas of inspection requiring special emphasis and interpretation of food service regulations as necessary.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to successfully pass periodic Sanitation Certification course.
- Must possess and maintain a valid government/state issued driver's license.
- This position requires a Secret Clearance.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires rotating shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on an on-call basis.
Qualifications
This is an OBLIGATED position.
This position is obligated. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s). Obligated positions may also cover employees who have been on extended leave without pay under certain circumstances.
When a position is obligated to an employee it means that he/she has an entitlement to that position. During the obligation period, the position may be filled on a temporary or permanent basis. When an obligated position is filled, the selected employee is required to sign an agreement acknowledging that (s)he is aware of the obligation and accepts
the fact that (s)he may be displaced under reduction in force procedures at a later time.
This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months.
This is a Term position NOT TO EXCEED (NTE) thirteen (13) months. It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years total.
This position MAY be made permanent without further competition contingent upon verification of the incumbent's non-competitive eligibility (must be a 30% veteran, reinstatement eligible, etc., under competitive service).
This position may be filled as a Temporary Promotion or a Temporary Reassignment and may be extended for current Department of Army employees. At the end of this period, you will return to your permanent position of record, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) identifying new equipment items to bring into the food service system; 2) verifying source documents for accuracy and determine necessary accounting transactions; 3) entering supply transactions and records into a database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:any field of study.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
