THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1444000 and is part of the TN 134th ARW, National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization.

Duties

As an AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR WS-8801-14 (TITLE 32) you will plan the overall allocation of personnel, funding and equipment resources to the organizational segments supervised to accomplish work operations which, because of their scope, volume, complexity, operational tempo, and total force integration must be planned on annual or longer basis. Coordinate and direct the work of units supervised. Assigns and explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines. Recommend promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by them. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises, and Operations Other Than War (OOTW). Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Preplacement Medical Requirements: Selectee will be required to undergo medical testing, at the expense of the government, prior to beginning employment. Medical tests are used to determine fitness and eligibility for employment.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-8 through E-9 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience in exercising significant authority and influence in the organization which is derived from extensive involvement in the unit aircraft over a substantial period of time; possess significant 'blue collar experience in the aircraft through various journey and supervisory positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year experience at the next lower grade or 36 months formal technical training in planning and establishing of extensive long range work requirements and schedule. Experience with substantial and critical involvement with the planning and scheduling of combat aircraft which are expected to be combat ready and available to carry out the unit's Total Force mission on an immediate basis. Experience in planning considers local inspections requirements, aircraft and equipment modifications of varying degrees, depot maintenance away from home station, Air Force and ANG taskings, emergency stand down of aircraft for inspections/repair, daily training requirements, joint unit mission requirements, contractor testing of modifications, etc. Experience scheduling is routinely done from a multi-year basis down to daily requirements. Experience with the complexity of the aircraft, and the numerous and diverse systems on the aircraft, work planning clearly and substantially.
