You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY - PSYCHOLOGIST/ SOCIAL WORKER in the FLEET AND FAMILY SERVICE PROGRAMS of NAVSTA.

Duties

You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare work completion schedules. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty and requirements, employee capabilities, and clinical privileging status. You will hear and resolve employee complaints, refer group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management. You will actively participate in the professional development of all employees, ensuring protected classes are considered for training opportunities and are nominated/appointed to boards and committees. You will provide direct oversight, management, and coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Counseling and Advocacy Programs (CAP). You will develop standard operating procedures for local and site-specific guidance and processes, as well as write and/or update installation instructions specific to the CAP program. You will maintain records and statistical data as required, ensuring reports and data requests are submitted in a timely manner. You will serve as a core or alternate member of the Incident Determination Committee (IDC) and present all Family Advocacy Program (FAP) cases to the IDC. You will coordinate the quarterly Installation Family Advocacy Committee (FAC) and ensure membership and training requirements are met. You will serve as the community liaison with military and civilian agencies to further a comprehensive and coordinated response to child and domestic abuse. You will perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position is a TIER THREE clinical care practitioner with clinical supervisor eligibility. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8 and DoDI 6400.01: 1. Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines: a. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR b. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR c. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR d. Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship 2. State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology. 3. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination. 4. Must have engaged in two years, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience AND have two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification. 5. Must be eligible to provide clinical supervision to others, which requires a minimum of 2000 hours post-licensure, or 4000 hours post-graduate degree, full-time clinical experience in a clinical setting and a minimum of two years of experience working in the field of domestic abuse and child abuse counseling or treatment. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with military life styles and understanding the specific demands of military life, such as frequent separations, high stress working environments, and the impact on individuals and families; Experience using necessary diagnostic skills to identify child abuse and domestic abuse and applying effective intervention strategies including risk assessment and safety planning; Experience applying human resource management policies and procedures as well familiarity and support of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program; Experience executing sound clinical judgment and collaborating effectively with personnel from diverse disciplines; AND Experience modifying programs to meet the ever changing needs of the active duty military community. Psychology Series, 0180
Counseling psychology: Satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required.


Social Work Series, 0185
Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
