As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Commercial Credit Lead Expert), you will serve as a senior staff member for Midsize and Community Bank Supervision (MCBS) and provide advice and support to the bank supervision functions in the area of Commercial Credit. Midsize and Community Bank Supervision RRED Chicago, IL Chicago, IL is the preferred location, but may be filled in an alternative location.

Duties

As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Commercial Credit Lead Expert), you will: Identify and address areas of significant commercial credit related risk in midsize, credit card, community banks, trust companies, and Federal Branches and Agencies. Lend high level of expertise to the examination to the most complex commercial credit matters as required for examinations of midsize, community banks, and other financial institutions. Provide authoritative advice on commercial credit matters to MCBS management, subject matter experts and specialists and Bank Supervision Policy subject matter experts. Participate in macro studies of strengths and vulnerabilities of commercial credit risk management systems, and other commercial credit practices. Identify emerging issues in commercial credit risk throughout the district or midsize bank supervision and coordinates findings with other commercial credit experts around the country. Provide leadership to examiners and is relied upon by examiners throughout the country for advice on complex commercial credit matters. Ensure staff is informed of and understands new policy or program Initiatives and changes to bank supervisory procedures and new regulations. Prioritize and provide advice on commercial credit-related risks in credit card bank supervision.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Leading exams or audits of a financial institution's activities to identify commercial credit risk and provide advice to management on risk mitigation. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
