About the Position: This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Provide training and security programs related to Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical (including Antiterrorism/Force Protection) and Operations Security.
Responsible for providing definitive technical advice and assistance to senior authorities regarding the establishment and implementation of a comprehensive security program.
Responsible for developing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the status of the Force Protection and Antiterrorism program to include supporting programs in Operations Security and Physical Security.
Conduct required AT-related assessments and inspections utilizing threat information gathered from a variety of law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Prepare security briefings specifically tailored for personnel assigned requiring access to classified material, foreign travel, alarm systems operations, terrorism, and sabotage.
Manage components of emergency management program(s) and activities during a response real world or exercise, including Unit Control Center activation and operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access. A pre-employment and recurring comprehensive background investigations are required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting in development of security plans; aiding in the evaluation of security vulnerabilities; and recommending security program improvements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
