About the Position: This position supports the mission of the J-8, Financial Operations Directorate and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Analyze new or proposed legislation or regulations to determine necessary changes to automated accounting systems.
Provide guidance and direction to software engineers and programmers in implementing changes and updates to automated financial and accounting systems.
Ensure compliance with DOD-IG/auditor recommendations and other mandates such as DOD Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS), Procurement Data Standard (PDS), and other mandated accounting systems standards.
Manage, in conjunction with support staff, the CRM Oracle Accounting system configuration and migrations
Conduct root cause analysis of accounting discrepancies that arise in the financial system and oversees the solution implementation.
Use developed automated tools to respond to inquiries from MHS budget staff regarding program and financial issues, and provide information to support reclaims to proposed budget adjustments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This is a financial management Level 3 Certified position. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
- This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing financial regulations, assisting in the research of accounting discrepancies, and promoting the use of accounting automation software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
