Serves as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program Manager. Incumbent reports to the
Technical Operations, Technical Services Organization, Environmental Occupational Safety and Health
(EOSH) , EOSH Program Support Center.
Duties
Analyzes jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the risks to employees. Recommends modifications to workplaces to control or eliminate hazards. Inspects or surveys workplaces for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards. Reviews project plans and specifications for facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with established EOSH standards. Conducts occupational safety evaluation of hazardous conditions and develops recommendations for abatement.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Certification/Recertification of a Moderate Risk Security Clearance Required.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the I pay band level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent at the next lower level, FV-H, FG/GS-12. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience Statement: Specialized experience includes knowledge of Industrial Health principles and regulations, Occupational Safety principles and regulations, and Environmental Compliance laws and regulations. Such experience should include program management of fall protection, electrical safety, confined space entry, hazard communication, indoor air quality, job hazard analysis, asbestos abatement, lead (Pb) abatement, and waste management.In addition to the qualification requirements listed above, The following have been determined to be Quality Ranking Factors for this position. Quality Ranking Factor (QRF). A QRF is a knowledge, skill or ability (KSA) or competency that could be expected to significantly enhance performance in a position, but, unlike an SPF, is not essential for satisfactory performance. A QRF is applied in the rating and ranking process. Applicants who possess the quality ranking factor may be ranked above those who do not, but no one can be rated ineligible solely for failure to possess a QRF.Skill in accordance with ANSI training standards for Managed Fall Protection Programs-Competent Person in Fall ProtectionSkill in accordance with NFPA 70E - Qualified Person in Electrical SafetySkill in accordance with the EPA Model Accreditation Plan as an AHERA contractor/supervisor, or Inspector, or management planner - Accredited Asbestos ProfessionalApplicants MUST include examples of specialized experiences in their work history and be specific when describing specialized experience.
