This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Alameda, Naval Engineering Department, Industrial Production Facility, Alameda, CA.
Duties
This position is located at Coast Guard Base Alameda, Naval Engineering Department, Industrial Production Facility. The primary purpose is the supervision of civil branch production and operations at the industrial facility. In this position the selectee will also provide administrative and technical supervision to the assigned workforce for the maintenance and repair of Coast Guard assets in the assigned area of responsibility, and elsewhere when directed by IOD. Projects under the civil branch commonly consist of minor construction/framing, decking renewals, ceiling repair/renewals, electrical wiring, concrete pouring, insulation repairs, etc. This position is 50% supervision and 50% hands-on work in support of Industrial Service Orders (ISOs).
Requirements

- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
- Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- May be required to complete a supervisory probationary period.

Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
Ability to Lead (SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT)
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc
Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
Ability to interpret, specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
Knowledge of Materials
