This position is located in the Dental Department of the Haskell Indian Health Center. The primary function of this position is to provide registration and eligibility service information by interacting with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for alternate resources, Purchased Referred Care and private/commercial insurance. Incumbent reports to the Chief Dentist.

Duties

Interviews patients to obtain pertinent patient registration information Determines the eligibility of patients seeking healthcare Maintains, keys-enters, updates and verifies all alternate resources data Enters all information into the RPMS (Resource Patient Management System) patient registration system This position is being re-advertised to solicit additional applicants. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-5: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Specialized Experience is defined as determining eligibility requirements and obtaining and processing demographic and insurance information for patient registration, alternate resources, purchased referred care services and related purposes. OR Four years of education beyond the high school level (must provide transcripts). OR Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience are also qualifying. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
