Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Large Business and International Director Northeastern Compliance Practice Area (NECPA)
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Acts as office manager for the Director, International's office ensuring that the practices and procedures used by secretaries in subordinate offices are consistent with those of the Director's office. Recommends changes in administrative policies as needed. On own initiative, establishes and revises office procedures and practices, developing desk procedures for use by other secretaries. Regularly meets with subordinate secretaries to provide training and discuss topics of mutual interest. Maintains schedule for providing secretarial support for the Director's office.
Responds to inquiries and administrative problems brought to the attention of the Director by members of the staff and officials of LMSB Headquarters, International governments, other Federal agencies, and congressional staff. Notifies the appropriate officials of the need for information or recommendations, and either prepares responses or follows up to ensure a timely response by others.
Exercises exclusive control over the Director's calendar. Schedules appointments for meetings and conferences without prior clearance, coordinating with other participants as to time and location. As priorities change due to unexpected or emergency situations, determines which appointments should be rescheduled for the Director and which can be referred to the Deputy Director or other LMSB officials. Arranges with these officials for their attendance as the Director's representative.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-10 LEVEL: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience gained using own judgment to determine and referring items of special importance; Reviewing incoming directives and issuances; Making final commitments, and advising those that might affect future decisions; Serving as a liaison by briefing on views on current issues, programs, and activities; Recommending changes in administrative policies and devising and installing procedures and office practices; Conducting periodic training sessions; Performing administrative support assignments such as collecting data for the annual budget estimates, monitoring expenses during the year, recommending budget adjustments and preparing periodic and annual reports. Your experience should also include handling office emergencies and resolving situations requiring initiative.
AND
MEET TIME IN GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT: You must meet applicable TIG requirements to be considered eligible. To meet TIG for positions above the GS-05 grade level, you must have served at least one year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade (or equivalent) in the normal line of progression for the position you are applying to. Advancement to positions up to GS-05 is permitted if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade held within the preceding 52 weeks.
AND
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. For this requirement, a competitive appointment is one where you applied to and were appointed from an announcement open to "All US Citizens".
AND
You must meet the following special requirements: Applicants must be a qualified typist with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute (based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors). Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for three years. We may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.
