You will serve as a Recovery Care Coordinator in the Navy Wounded Warrior division of COMNAVREG SE JAX.
Duties
You will serve as the Recovering Service Member (RSM) and family/caregivers' primary point of contact, providing non-medical services for their non=medical and medical needs.
You will assist RSMs in their mental, physical and spiritual recovery by getting them to the resources in the community.
You will provide comprehensive non-medical case management including assistance with DoD and other government benefits, family program assistance, TRICARE, DFAS, Social Security and VA assistance.
You will collect, maintain, and analyze data for planning, tracking and reporting purposes.
You will represent the Navy Wounded Warrior Program and organization and speak at meetings, committees, conferences and symposiums, both within the Navy and with external organizations.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete DoD Recovery Care Coordinator training within 90 days.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience providing support to wounded, ill and injured service members, utilizing a knowledge of military pay, personnel and casualty assistance policies and regulations; 2) Experience establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with representatives of community organizations and community leaders; and 3) Experience facilitating case management as a member of a team in the recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration of seriously wounded, ill and injured warriors.
