You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC in the MARINE DEPOT MAINTENANCE COMMAND of MAINTENANCE CENTER ALBANY.

Duties

You will determine repair methods, techniques, tools and time. You will devise and recommend new and modified test, repair and calibration procedures. You will select and use specialized test equipment. You review and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams when performing repairs and related duties. You will provide assistance to engineers in writing test procedures for prototype and non-developmental items (NDI). You will set up and operate computer automated test equipment (ATE). You will modify test procedures to isolate problems which may Involve faulty ATE equipment or software, and/or faulty system components. You will compile technical performance records on new systems, write technical reports, and conduct analysis of system performance.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You are willing and able to accept a temporary promotion not to exceed one year.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position requires which requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
  • This position requires that you are willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 40 pounds in weight.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
