This position is located in the Finance & Accounting Service and is assigned to the accounting section staff at the VA Maryland Health Care System. The position is under direct supervisor of the Supervisory Accountant and serves as the primary teller and is liable for the proper disbursement of public funds and the deposit of collections at the medical center and assist with technician level work in the accounting and travel department.
Duties
Major Duties May Include:
Accurately completing and recording Field Service Receipts
Accurately preparing cash replenishments
Auditing and preparing beneficiary travel for payment
Accurately completing and processing personal funds of patients received
Processing general post fund donations
Accurately recording and processing both routine and complex deposits
Accurately completing daily weekly and monthly reports
Assists with processing travel documents in the travel program (CGE)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/17/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
