The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Director, Combat Mission Support and exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities at for the 351st Special Warfare Training Squadron, Special Warfare Training Group, Special Warfare Training Wing, Kirtland Air Force Base.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the Combat Mission Support (CMS) activities and functions of the 351st Special Warfare Training Squadron (351 SWTS).
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
As the squadron senior technical advisor on all Combat Mission Support functions, performs/leads studies and provides technical advice and assistance on development and implementation of programs and processes associated with Aircrew Flight Equipment program, Combat Arms program, communications and COMSEC program, radio shop, supply chain management including equipment and vehicles, vehicle maintenance vehicle fleet management, warehousing, field deployment/reception and contingency planning and operations, and logistic plans, agreements and resource management processes.
Represents 351 SWTS/Combat Mission Support requirements across a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Represents Special Warfare logistics readiness issues at higher management-level meetings within the organization and at conferences with MAJCOM, HQ USAF, and other agencies.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Incumbent may be subject to inclement weather conditions including sub-freezing or extreme heat and/or humidity.
- Employee is required to work an uncommon tour of duty. This position mandates irregular work schedules with nor and/or weekend training activates (e.g. employee will be required to perform overtime and night work).
- Work requires lifting potentially heavy weight over 100lbs in boxes and other supply chain management items and technical rescue and lifesaving equipment.

- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.(cont'd)

- This is a Supervisory Position. A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the laws, regulations, principles, and practices of Aircrew Flight Equipment program, Combat Arms program, communications and COMSEC program, radio shop, supply chain management including equipment and vehicles, vehicle maintenance vehicle fleet management, warehousing, field deployment/reception and contingency planning and operations, and logistic plans, to develop policies and procedures for a Squadron, Wing, and MAJCOM Special Program Offices; Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures to formalize solutions for complex problem sets.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and lead, mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
