About the Position: This position are located in Letterkenny Munitions Center at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Duties
Assign the amount of workers needed to complete a painting job in a efficient amount of time.
Investigate work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determine the cause.
Plan current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling painting projects work.
Ensures that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
Maintain paint receipts/records to provide data to responsible personnel.
Assist missile mechanics on the teardown and disassembly of missiles and component parts.
Advise and counsel workers how to improve performance and explains new work techniques.
Checks modification status and performs mechanical inspection of missiles and missile components such as corrosion, damage, loose or missing hardware, proper stenciling and nomenclature. Repairs and modifies as required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
- Must complete ammunition certification requirements IAW AMC-R 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working Ammunition Operations, within one year of appointment.
- The applicant must pass a pre-employment physical and subsequent periodic medical examinations. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- This position is subject to pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter in compliance with the Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Program.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and/or maintain respiratory protection program certification.
- May be required to obtain operators permit for vehicles and equipment assigned to the shop.

Physical Effort: Work involves standing, stooping, bending and kneeling for prolonged periods of time, and may require occasional lifting of items weighing over 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside, and incumbent may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dirt, spray and fumes. May be exposed to chemical which can cause irritation to eyes, nose and throat, and may cause skin and respiratory sensitization to develop in individuals with hypersensitivity to isocyanates. Frequently required to wear heavy and uncomfortable protective clothing. Subject to the possibility of cuts, bruises and broken bones.
