This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12. You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Detachment AUTEC (NUWC DET AUTEC) Base Operations Branch of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Duties

You will serve as the senior technical specialist providing oversight of the NUWC DET AUTEC contractor execution/implementation of the Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) program. You will be responsible for oversight of the AUTEC contractor compliance with NAVSEA Publication-589 shipboard crane program management. You will be the primary point of contact with GSA, NAVFAC and Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), in coordinating, ordering and tracking leased vehicles, tracking the AUTEC fleet vehicle and equipment inventory. You will be responsible for continual audits of the performance and compliance of the AUTEC contractor for the WHE and Transportation functional areas. You will be responsible for monitoring the AUTEC contractor overall program compliance with existing regulations and the AUTEC contract performance work statement (PWS).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-09/10 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and guiding in the safety, operation, maintenance or modernization of Weight Handling and Transportation Equipment in a shore-based and/or shipboard environment. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

OR
A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus. The percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
