Performs a wide range of warehousing activities including receiving, storing and issuing a variety of supplies, material and equipment. **Sign on Bonus of $500 after 90 days of continuous employment**

Duties

To assist with the oversight of a 25,000 square foot warehouse that stores and issues fitness and recreation equipment to homeported military ashore and afloat commands Performs a wide range of warehousing activities including receiving, storing and issuing a variety of supplies, material and equipment Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized warehouse that meets safety and fire regulations Stocks merchandise on shelves, sweeps floors and disposes of packing materials and boxes Issues recreational and onboard fitness equipment to commands Operates vehicles such as stake trucks, pallet jack, forklifts, dollies, box truck with lift gate, hi-lift pallet stacker, etc. Maintains maintenance and inspection records for all associated vehicles Provides preventative maintenance guidelines for shipboard fitness equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge of the overall warehousing plan, documentation requirements and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques Ability to read and comprehend manual and instructions used in the repair of equipment Ability to read shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot maintenance problems and correct the problem Proficient with a computer and have basic knowledge of software such as Microsoft Office suite Work environment is a warehouse facility that may be hot, damp, drafty or poorly lighted in addition to duties aboard a ship or submarine May be required to wear protective clothing and shoes Work requires constant vigilance in the interest of safety Will work independently the majority of the time under nominal supervision Knowledge of record keeping related to preventative maintenance
