Duties
Advise and assist the Supervisory Auditior in developing and recommending audit and other oversight policies, procedures and innovative approaches based on techincal expertise and operating experience.
Recommends oversight activities based on program significance and assessed level of audit and program risk, subject to resource limitations and program objectives issued by the Inspector General
Identify, coordinate and conduct multiple audits and audit related assignments.
Develop and maintain working relationships with individuals and/or groups at all levels of government, the public and private sector.
Prepare and consolidate analyses of written summaries of others to develop draft audit findings and complete draft audit reports.

Qualifications
To qualify for the Senior Auditor, PG -0511-13, you must meet the following requirements:
Basic Education Requirement: Degree: Accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include 6 credits in business law.

Combination of education and experience: At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
To minimally qualify for the PG-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at the PG-12 (or equivalent) level or higher. The specialized experience for this position is identified as: Performing audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS); Leading and performing all phases of an audit in accordance with GAGAS; and providing authoritative advice and guidance on developing and writing audit guides in accordance with GAGAS.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
