You will serve as a ELECTRICAL WORKER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties
You will set up electrical system equipment by arranging the wiring, conduits, raceways, couplings, fittings, relays, boxes, or circuit breakers for proper and safe operation.
You will decide the method and techniques to be used in order to complete daily electrical work assignments.
You will complete basic electrical repairs by tightening connection or wrapping exposed wiring with insulating tape.
You will interpret blueprints or diagrams to determine efficient operation of electrical systems or equipment.
You will analyze electrical systems and equipment performance to isolate malfunctions.
You will use hand tools of the trade (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, cable pullers) to perform electrical work.

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires Shift Work.

Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Installing, repairing, modifying and troubleshooting electrical systems and fixture controls; 2) Reading and following wiring diagrams that specify where wiring, fixtures, and controls are installed or need to be hooked up; 3) Using and maintaining hand tools and a variety of test equipment in electrical work.
