The ideal candidate for this will have knowledge of or experience in healthcare, law enforcement, and/or hazardous materials training and the ability to incorporate current, state-of-the-practice information into curriculum development. This position starts at a salary of $47,060 (GS-07) with promotion potential to $69,646 (GS-11). This position has an individual occupational requirement at OPM Training Instruction Qualification Standard Training Instruction Series 1712 (opm.gov). In addition to the Minimum Qualifications requirement listed below, you must meet the education or combination of education/experience listed under Basic Requirements. If using education to qualify, submission of transcript is required. Unofficial transcript is acceptable at time of application. Official transcript will be required if selected.
Basic Requirements:
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
or
Experience
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program.
Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
AND
Minimum Requirements:
You qualify for this position at the GS-07 level (starting salary $47,060) if you possess the following: One year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade (GS-05). This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized Experience:
Designing and developing adult education courses
Or
1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement (must be in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.)
You qualify for this position at the GS-09 level (starting salary $57,564) if you possess the following: One year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade (GS-07). This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized Experience:
Designing and developing adult education courses
Planning adult education courses using adult education theories and methodologies
Or
Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related (must be in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.)
