The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is recruiting for an Infrastructure Operations, Section Chief to build a team overseeing enterprise network operations to include project planning and execution of all network connections, tailored sustainment plan maintenance and network design and engineering approvals in the DHS Office of the Chief Information Officer. This position is in the DHS Cybersecurity Service.
Duties
As an Infrastructure Operations, Section Chief for the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), IT Operations Directorate you will oversee efforts to continuously assess all network connections throughout the Department. You will manage programs, budgets, contracts, and staff regarding enterprise network operations and maintenance and tool monitoring and maintenance across DHS headquarters and the DHS enterprise.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or national.
- You must be 18 years of age.
- Must be registered for the Selective Service (if you are a male).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Must be able to submit to a drug test and receive a negative result.
- Must be able to comply with ethics and standards of conduct requirements, including completing any applicable financial disclosure.
- May be required to serve a 3-year probationary period.
- While this position may be telework eligible, individual must live within 2 hrs. driving distance to a DHS SCIF in either Chandler, AZ; Stennis, MS; or Washington, D.C.
- Remote work may be available for this position.
Qualifications
This position is in the Leadership Track at the Lead Cybersecurity Specialist level. At this level, individuals generally:
Have 5+ years of cybersecurity work experience.
Are capable of serving as an experienced cybersecurity professional who applies technical expertise and limited administrative supervision to delegate work to-and review the work of-lower-level cybersecurity professionals.
DHS Cybersecurity Service employees with a technical capability in Secure Network Operations will generally:
Understand the installation, configuration, testing, operation, maintenance, and management of networks and their firewalls, including hardware and software, which permit the sharing and transmission of all spectrum transmissions of information to support the security of information and information systems.
DHS Cybersecurity Service employees with a technical capability in Cybersecurity Program Management will generally:
Apply knowledge of information security to define the organization's direction and direct resources to achieve the mission.
Develop and recommends policy changes to support mission needs.
Manage security implications within the organization as directed.
Education
