About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
This is an Asset Management Section Chief. This position may be filled as 0401 Biologist; 0808 Architect; 0810 Civil Engineer; 0830 Mechanical Engineer; or 0850 Electrical Engineer, for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Asset Management Section, Little Rock, AR.
Duties
Develop asset management policies to include strategies, objectives, using risk informed asset management and reliability engineering principals.
Serve as the Operations Division's point of contact for other Federal agencies, national or regional non-profit groups, and regional stakeholder groups.
Exercise management responsibilities in coordinating and communicating program requirements within the District, the Division, and HQUSACE.
Provide guidance to include consulting assistance, and staff coordination for actions or initiatives impacting asset management of facilities, structures, and projects that cross multiple business lines.
Provide management oversight of various activities and projects to ensure a consistent and integrated approach across business lines.
Work with the SWD Asset Manager to include District and Division G6 teams, National FEM Support Team, Management Support Staff and District/Project FEM System Administrators to resolve any problems.
Standardizing business processes to include instilling best practices, accountability, and predictive resource requirements.
Manage the development of budgetary requirements for asset management.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Position requires temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 35% or more.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement (OGE-450) upon entry into the position and annually thereafter.

**In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing an Asset Management Program to include condition assessments, risk assessments, and utilization of a maintenance management system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Education
