This position is assigned to the National Partnership Office and will be located at a Forest Service office in Puerto Rico, with preference for Rio Grande, PR. The incumbent works closely with leadership, communities and others to align partnership activities with agency goals, helping communities build knowledge and capacity to access Agency programs. Duties

Network and consult with other organizational members through meetings and other communication and collaboration tools in support of partnership programs. Create information resources and learning opportunities for networking and internal developmental activities. Provide advice, counsel or instruction on administrative and work matters to ensure compliance with safety and partnership regulations. Recommend innovative approaches for resolving problems and preventing conflicts. Serve as a technical expert on partnerships for national and regional coordinators, leadership, and other collaborators.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-12: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as a majority of the following: Performed work related to building coalitions for partnerships that included communicating with stakeholders such as small businesses, governmental organizations, non-profits, tribal governments, media, academic institutions, the general public, local community groups; experienced collaborator/partnership builder who can represent diverse interest; skilled communicator or both oral and written; effective problem solver that is results oriented; experience engaging with underserved or low income communities on natural resources and/or environment, energy, & health issues; experience in applying for and implementing/administering government, grants &/or agreements or administering a government grant or purchasing program(s); and experience representing their employer or community in high profile, politically sensitive issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Work Experience: Your resume must clearly document the following for each block of work experience; the beginning day, month and year the work assignment started and ended; the hours worked per week; position title, and series and grade if applicable; and description of duties performed.
