Serves as a Staff Support Specialist (MSS-1) in a En Route facility. Responsible for tactical, strategic, and administrative support of multiple program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, operational automation, military, special and security operations, safety management system, safety reporting and other areas of specialty identified collaboratively at the local level.
Duties
The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis, evaluation and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. While not required, hardware/software experience is desirable. Some travel will be required.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- All applicants MUST complete and submit page 1 only of the FAA Form 3330-43-1.
Qualifications
Candidates must show specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as:1. Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year (52 weeks); OR2. Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility {NOTE: An employee who has been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility who is upgraded is considered to have met the qualification requirements of the higher-level position, since he/she has been performing the higher-graded work}; OR3. Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility {reference NOTE above}.IN ADDITION to meeting the qualification requirements above,Revision 1, "MSS Qualification Requirements for AT-2152 Terminal and En Route Positions" will be used to determine which career level applicants are qualified to make application.For this particular position, applicants must currently hold or have held the position of CPC, TMC/TMS, for at least 1 year (52 weeks) or a FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher in a Headquarters or Region position for at least 1 year (52 weeks).QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
