THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a GS-2101-12 THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1504P01 in FAC 32F200 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing.
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This position is a Temporary vacancy NTE one year in the Excepted Service. This is a non-bargaining unit position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW.
Duties
Administers refresher and advanced training to ANG military AOC weapons systems positional specialists.
Instructs rated pilots, navigators, air battle managers, space operations specialists, and other AOC assigned personnel in advanced aerospace operations applications using current AOC systems of record.
Interviews instructors, pilots, navigators, air battle managers, space operations specialists, and other assigned AOC personnel to determine operational background in their respective weapons systems/specialties.
Performs as instructor and/or examiner; evaluates and examines personnel to determine preparation for the application of aerospace force/operations, proficiency during actual operations, instructional ability, and technical competence.
Performs as instructor and/or examiner and conducts post operations critiques.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of a variety of specialties to include general and advanced knowledge of AOC assigned weapons systems, U.S. and allied aircraft, space weapons systems, and tactical employment of weapons systems.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of a variety of specialties to include general and advanced knowledge of search and rescue, theater missile defense and air tasking order development and execution.
Coordinates, plans, and executes Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) and Reachback operations.
Conducts Command and Control over all subordinate elements of the Theater Air Control System (TACS), including airborne and ground based sensors.
Plans and executes datalink operations critical to maintaining and synchronizing situational awareness in multiple theaters.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Under a temporary appointment, employment is subject to termination at any time.
- This position can be filled up to four years as long as funds are available to support it.
- In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the temporary appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent status.

- This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Since the position is temporary in nature, the compatibility requirements will be waived for a period of time not to exceed one year. Selecting official must verify that selected individual is currently assigned to a military unit in the Missouri National Guard and that the selection does not create grade inversion.
Maximum Military Grade - SMSgt (E-8)
Minimum Military Grade - MSgt (E-7)
Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems.
GS-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months of specialized experience which demonstrates your ability to plan, develop and present comprehensive courses of instruction on Air Operations Center (AOC) operational skills to rated pilots; navigators, air battle managers, and space operations specialists; administer refresher and advanced training to AOC weapons systems positional specialists; coordinate, plan and execute Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) and Reachback operations; and collect, review and disseminate data on tactics and employment techniques for weapons systems (friendly and enemy).
Must currently hold or have held AFSC 1C5XX.
Education
This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
