You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC in the PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT 900 of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will perform circuit card troubleshooting using the US Navy Gold disc program and two micro-miniature repairs of circuit card assemblies. You will perform fiber optic cable troubleshooting and repair to include connectors. You will utilize torque wrenches, micrometers, and various gauges in the assembly process and repair or replace parts. You will maintain the command test equipment program coordinating with calibration coordinators. You will provide assistance, training, and technical guidance to lower-level employees, including military personnel. You will clean, inspect, calibrate and refurbish various types of couplers, thermal imager firefighting equipment and communication systems.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You may be required to climb ladders or scaffolding.
