About the Position: This position administers the financial aspects of the Third Party Collection Program (TPCP) and Medical Services Accounts (MSA).

Duties
Coordinate the processing of medical claims to appropriate agencies for reimbursement and billing, collecting, and accounting for funds due the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Implement operational improvements, direct and oversee the technical operations within the Uniform Business Office (UBO) to ensure all tasks are accomplished correctly and timely.
Post Monies collected for payments received from billing agencies and or patients to automated medical billing/accounting system.
Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties in the receiving, processing, and filing of medical claims and collecting Monies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing documents/correspondence to ensure data is accurate; utilizing automated software, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint, to prepare reports, spreadsheets, memorandums, and/or correspondence; and performing various accounting postings and/or reconciliations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
