You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the PRODUCTION DIVISION, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT BRANCH PHIL of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will requisition and make purchases of supplies, material, equipment, and services in compliance with all applicable supply and service acquisition procedures, policies, and regulations. You will track and maintain up-to-date status of all requisitions and purchases. You will maintain suspense files on purchases and requisitions submitted until all actions are complete. You will use automated operating system (Single Platform MAXIMO) sufficient to enter, extract, correct data, retrieve recurring reports and structure and retrieve specialized reports. You will monitor the use of cards and recommends appropriate action when abuse has occurred, including card suspension or termination of bankcard privileges. You will review quotes for errors, omissions, and points which could potentially be misinterpreted by bidders and suggest revisions or additions.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as a buyer and point of contact for a variety of difficult procurement transactions utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP); 2) Possessing basic computer skills, using Excel with pre-populated formulas, using Outlook, and how to use search features on multiple website; 3) Communicating with vendors via telephone and email; 4) Reconciling bank statements an purchase files; 5) Inputting Purchase Orders and 889 information into information systems; and 6) Administering the purchasing portion of operations of the Government Purchase Card (GPC) Program.
