As a/an Credentialing Administrator, you will be located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH), Washington, DC, Corporate Resources Office (CRO). The mission of the AFRH is to fulfill the nation's commitment to its Veterans by providing a premier retirement community with exceptional residential care and extensive support services.

Duties

As a/an Credentialing Administrator, you will: Develop and maintain procedures and policies to ensure effective processes for handling credentialing software and documents with the approval of the Credentialing Manager. Process actions and facilitating the professional and peer reviews process. Maintains records and files (electronic and paper) which meet all regulatory, accreditation, and certification requirements. Develop and administer the credentialing process ensuring adequate and timely credentialing of licensed independent practitioners. Respond to inquiries about credentialing and privileging as well as to resolve issues and concerns as they are presented. Educate and train all licensed independent practitioners on how to enter their documentation into vendor credentialing software.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following: - Possessing a wide range of administrative experience with credentialing such as including credentialing software and documents, proofreading/editing all correspondence; AND -Developing and/or maintain procedures and policies to ensure effective processes for credentialing; AND - Providing advice and guidance to senior managers on efficient operation of the administrative processes for credentialing. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Combining Education and Experience: When combining education with experience, first determine your total qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; then determine your experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following: - Possessing administrative experience with credentialing such as serving as an agency point of contact and maintaining working relationships, proofreading/editing all correspondence, maintaining records and files, and utilizing advanced software programs AND - Providing advice and guidance to lower-level office personnel in completion of assigned tasks, ensuring timely outcome of actions, and application of customer service; AND - Maintaining procedures and policies. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Combining Education and Experience: When combining education with experience, first determine your total qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; then determine your experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following: - Maintaining credentialing records and files (electronic and paper); AND - Using computer software for credentialing tasks; AND - Tracking tasks and projects to ensure deadlines are met; AND - Preparing, reviewing and editing correspondence. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: I have successfully completed at least 1 full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) in an accredited college or university. OR You may have a bachelor's degree and meet one of the following requirements for superior academic achievement: A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

Education

Education Requirements:
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
