About the Position: Serves as the Chief, Facilities Support Division, with full supervisory authority for accomplishing the mission of the Division. Exercises, through subordinate supervisors and work leaders, technical and administrative supervision over approximately forty-five subordinates engaged in various trades, labor, and administrative support activities. Relied upon for technical and managerial guidance and advice on all aspects of the work.


Plan on a quarterly or longer basis, the overall use of subordinate personnel and other resources. Determine resource requirements, materials, and the number of subordinates and the types of skill necessary to accomplish long-range work schedules. Allocate resources and distributes work to subordinate chiefs for accomplishment of workload. Analyze work plans developed by subordinate supervisors and monitors the status of their work in relation to the overall schedule requirements, including unanticipated or emergency requirements. Provide advice to higher level management officials and staff organization on feasibility of work assignments as scheduled, budget estimates, and workload data to assist in developing or reviewing proposed long-range schedules and work requirements. Assign and explain work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed. Observe workers' performance and periodically evaluates employee performance, and/or reviews evaluations made by subordinate supervisors. Participate with management officials and/or engineering personnel to develop qualitative and/or quantitative work standards. Coordinate work operations with the supervisors and managers of other organizations and functions throughout the depot

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to supervise general maintenance and operations without more than normal supervision, demonstrated by experience leading others in the repair of electronic/air conditioning equipment, or heavy mobile equipment, or electrical equipment or industrial equipment or high-pressure piping systems. As supervisor, you may have to assist in lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds, occasionally heavier weights with assistance. Often must supervise employees and inspect repairs from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and hard-to-reach places requiring bending, kneeling, and stooping. Subject to frequent cramped and awkward positions. Work requires prolonged standing and continuous movement of hands and arms. Working Conditions: Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather. Subject to sudden temperature changes. There is frequently exposure to dirt, dust, grease, noise, odor, smoke, and possibility of toxic fumes. May be exposed to explosive munitions. Subject to burns, cuts and electric shock. Exposure to prolonged, repeated, or concentrated amounts of refrigerant gases may cause toxic affects to eyes, skin or internal organs. Protective clothing or devices, including uncomfortable respirators or masks are required to mitigate the risk from these conditions. PPE is required daily including safety shoes, safety eye wear, and hearing protection. Other PPE may be required less frequently to address other working conditions, to include safety vests, respirators, hard hats, gloves and more.
