Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1060-11. A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is at least one year of experience (combined), equal to the GS-10 level in the federal service, using both digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) and medium format digital cameras to capture events for an organization. Your application and resume must demonstrate that you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). Do not provide a separate narrative written statement. Rather, you must show in your résumé how your past work experience demonstrates that you possess the KSAs identified below. If asked to do so, cite specific examples of employment or experience contained in your resume and describe how this experience has prepared you to successfully perform the duties of this position. DO NOT write "see resume" in your application! Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria: Requires 20/20 vision with correction. Requires accurate color perception. Must be able to work occasional weekend and evening overtime hours. Requires work indoors and outdoors in all-weather types. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Photography – Knowledge of all aspects of digital photography including lighting, equipment choice and image cataloging. Color Management – Skill applying color management best practices for the capture and output of images of works of art. Public Relations – Ability to capture images for the purpose of branding and developing a positive public opinion. Experience

General Experience (for positions at GS-5 and below): Experience in operating camera and/or processing equipment. Such experience may have been gained in (1) operating still cameras, copy cameras, motion picture cameras, video camcorders, or other types of camera equipment that involved arranging lighting and composition, (2) developing and printing film or negatives, or (3) a combination of both.

Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-6 and above): Experience in operating standard and specialized camera and film processing equipment related to the position to be filled. Knowledge of the subject-matter being photographed may also be required for some positions. For positions that require a high degree of artistic or creative ability, samples of work or other suitable evidence of technical competence may be required. Unpaid experience that is pertinent should be credited based upon its relevance to the work of the particular position to be filled.

Education (for positions at GS-5 and below): Major study -- photography, or other fields related to the position.

Training in photography at a vocational school or technical institute above the high school level is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
