Duties
The purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact and local subject matter expert for all Active-Duty Coast Guard members and their family members requesting Family Child Care Home certification, seeking quality childcare services and school related resources and information.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
To qualify applicants must meet the Basic Requirements of the position:
Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position such as child development or early childhood education. OR
Combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
To be qualified at the GS-11 level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level (in federal service). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Some examples of specialized experience are:
Applies professional knowledge of child development principles to implement CDS policies in a manner that ensures developmental programming practices within the FCC systems.
Identifying program resource requirements and provides CDS budget input to include manpower, supplies, equipment and expenditures.
Identify FCC providers training needs and ensure appropriate in-service training is provided to ensure FCC program requirements can be implemented.
Implement monitoring procedures for FCC homes to ensure regulatory compliance.
Advises Commanding Officers on all K-12 grade educational matters when requested.
OR
3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
