Duties

Performs as a computer scientist and technical consultant for work involving application, research and development of mathematical, statistical and computer simulated models and applications. Utilizes geospatial software to solve complex problems related to science and engineering. Prepares and implements the procedures, criteria, and specifications for Systems development or systems modification. Performs web-based design/programming and develop server based software applications based on DoD best management and security practices. Procures and tests new systems and interrelationships between new and existing systems. Attends meetings, conferences, briefings and seminars related to project planning, advanced technologies and supporting system concepts.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
