Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for investigation and litigation of white-collar crime matters. Typical duties include: Accessing, collecting, examining, and analyzing data, evidence, and other information from a variety of sources, including public access and law enforcement databases Conducting financial analysis and examinations in complex investigationsConducting independent research to reconstruct events, establish possible criminal associations, detect trends, and develop case-specific subject profiles. Establishing and/or verifying relationships among all facts and evidence obtained or presented to confirm authenticity of documents, and/or corroborate witness statements. Creating graphs, charts, and videos from data to assist fraud prosecutors and agents. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

Qualifications

GS-11:Applicants must meet at least one of the following: Specialized Experience: At leastone (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service applying analytical and investigative principles, techniques, and procedures sufficient to develop and present approaches and investigative techniques to legal problems. Examples of specialized experience accessing, collecting, examining, and analyzing data, evidence, and other information from a variety of sources, including public access and law enforcement databases; conducting financial analysis and examinations in complex investigations; and creating graphs, charts, and videos from data to assist fraud prosecutors and agents. OR Education: You must have one of the following types of education in a closely related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law) a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. To qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
