This position is located at United States Mint, Sales and Marketing Directorate. As a Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and marketing numismatic collectible coins which requires interaction with other departments of the United States Mint, including (but not limited to) Manufacturing, Chief Information Officer, Corporate Communications and Legal.
Duties
As a Marketing Specialist, you will:
Serve as a Marketing Specialist in the support of multiple numismatic and/or bullion coin products or programs. If assigned to the numismatics program, the employee plans and manages the delivery of major, high-priority products and services which are central to the Bureau's goals.
The employee is responsible for conceiving and developing new product ideas and initiatives; sustaining and maximizing the growth potential for new and mature products; monitoring the status and progress of product production; monitoring and managing inventory levels; managing product performance throughout the product lifecycle; and coordinating the cross-functional synchronization with all support functions, both internal and external to SAM.
The employee systematically collects, analyzes and interprets numismatic marketing data. From this data, the employee formulates basic strategies for the sale of numismatic products to wholesale bulk dealers; retail outlets and the general public.
The employee assists the forecast team in the execution of statistical and econometrics studies designed to forecast sales both before and throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience bringing multiple consumer products to market from inception to product launch.
Providing post launch product support by monitoring and managing product inventory, sales revenue and marketing, and advertising promotions for those products throughout the product lifecycle.
Performing comparative analysis of previous product and/or the performance of similar products sales history.
