You will serve as a Police Officer at the GG-0083-08 grade level performing a full range of police operation duties such as protecting facilities, perimeters, materials, equipment, personnel and information in accordance with applicable law enforcement laws, regulations and established procedures.
Duties
You will conduct preliminary investigations in response to calls for assistance (e.g., alarms, complaints, irregularities, incidents, unusual or suspicious circumstances).
You will detect and investigate unusual situations and use force to restrain and apprehend violators.
You will make arrests for violations of laws and regulations.
You will perform investigations (e.g., collect and protect evidence, take statements, make diagrams, interview witnesses) to determine warranted action.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position may be subject to a 2-year DCIPS Trial Period.
- Must pass pre-hire, initial, and annual medical, physical, and agility testing and requirements as directed by the command.
- Must pass annual CPR and first aid certification course.
- Must be mentally stable, have color vision, and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must maintain a license to operate a motor vehicle on the installation and pass the emergency vehicle operator’s course.
- Must pass all annual sustainment and use of force training.
- Must be physically able and skilled in handling of small arms to qualify with pistol, shotgun, and rifle annually.
- Rotating shift work required (Day shift, evening shift, and midnight shift).
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of all emergency operations or the availability of emergency-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:
1) Monitoring and patrolling perimeters (e.g., on foot or motor vehicle) to prevent unauthorized access.
2) Identifying traffic or personnel by performing access control duties ( e.g. inspect identification cards, badges, and vehicle decals).
3) Apprehending or detaining suspects violating laws and regulations.
4) Conducting criminal and security investigations in accordance with Federal and State laws and applicable regulations.
LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING (LET)All applicants must be a graduate of a Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy or a Department of the Navy-accepted accredited Police Academy.
