About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Review final product welds that are free from cracks, slag or other defects to meet inspection. Assign subordinates to utilize templates, gigs and other guides to properly modify and fabricate metal items. Determine multiple arc welding methods to utilize in order to complete penetration and fusion of base and filler metals. Review the effect and reaction different types of welding processes and techniques have on various types of metals.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 2 background investigation.
• This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
• This position requires a pre-employment physical.

There is some discomfort when wearing protective clothing, gloves, and flash shield or eye goggles required to minimize the possibility of eye injury, electrical shock, burns, and chance of cuts when working with sharp edges on parts and components under repair. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of the position.
