You will serve as a Woodworker (Forklift Operator) in the Shipping and Packing Section, Freight Operation Brank, Traffic Management Division of the MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You will interpret various regulations pertaining to packing, packaging, crating, shipping, handling, and storing material being prepared for shipment. You will secure, pack, and apply additional internal packing material to shipment being prepared for transportation. You will secure materials using blocking and bracing techniques. You will collect critical measurements data in order to not weight and cubic dimensions of material to be shipped and annotates information on shipping documentation. You will make decisions regarding appropriate method of packing and crating materials. You will prepare shipping documents, affixes proper packing list and shipping labels, or stencils correct identifying and shipping and handling instructions on shipping containers.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Must be able to operate MHE including industrial forklifts up to 15,000 pound load capacity and obtain a Limited Tactical Vehicle Operators License
  • Obtain and maintain current authorization to certify material for shipment or demonstrate ability based on previous experience, to obtain authority to certify material in accordance with applicable regulations.
