Serves as a Program Manager/Assistant Group Manager for AJW-L500 responsible for subordinate managers and employees who provide logistics products and services in support of the National Airspace System (NAS), FAA Logistics Center product groups, other federal agencies and international governments.

Duties

The core products and services are maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the NAS or other system equipment components and subcomponents; management of the supply chain for assigned system components and subcomponents; and engineering. Managerial duties Include: planning; communicating the organization's vision and objectives; setting priorities; assigning tasks and responsibilities; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; approving leave; and taking, recommending or approving corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate. Participates and encourages participation in development programs and continuous learning; assists in developing competencies and knowledge of subordinate employees.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required
  • One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-J (FG/GS-14) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE include: Experience providing management, oversight and guidance to subordinate managers; plans and/or approves work plans; communicates the mission and vision of an organization; evaluates performance; approves leave; coaches and develops employee development; recommends disciplinary/corrective action; plans, evaluates and oversees the use of financial and human resources.Applicants should provide examples of specialized experience in their work history. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.ANDQuality Ranking Factor (QFR): In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a quality ranking factor for this position: Well qualified applicants will have knowledge of logistics concepts and elements, e.g., life cycle management, maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations, supply chain management.
