This position is located Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Purchasing and Contracting, Department of Base Miami Beach, located in Miami Beach, FL.

Duties

The selectee of this position serves as a Purchasing Agent and provides procurement support for Coast Guard units and Coast deployed units.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • The position requires a valid state driver's license.
  • Appt not eligible for full-time telework. Supv may approve situational TW.

Qualifications

FOR THE GS-06:  Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience includes: Executes purchases through the Federal Supply Schedules, other agencies' contracts and Coast Guard contracts, as appropriate. Prepare and issue MIPRs and Interagency Agreements; Responsible for the acquisition by simplified acquisitions and micro purchasing procedures of supplies; computer and electronic or telecommunications equipment; technical and maintenance services.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
