Recruitment & Relocation Incentives have been authorized for highly qualified candidates. These positions are located within the Medical Supply Distribution areas of the Logistics Services at Tennessee Valley Health Care System in either Nashville or Murfreesboro, TN. The primary purpose of the position is to provide wards, clinics, service lines and other hospital facilities with non-expandable equipment and material.

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include, but may not be limited to: Maintains record of non-expandable inventory locations for medical and non-medical services Periodically, reviews assigned manufacturers code and part numbers for continued validity and take necessary action to update, delete, or dispose of in accordance with published guidelines Processes receipt and turn-in transaction to record into the equipment system of record for accountability and lifecycle management purposes Provides information to customers or external stakeholders regarding equipment and related materials Works with customers to resolve equipment management issues including receiving requests, clarifying user requirements, explaining delays, expediting deliveries and resolving problems Utilizes an automated inventory system to monitor issues and receipts in support of lifecycle management processes Utilizes computerized systems including bar-coding and automated inventory systems for the delivery and inventory control of equipment Delivers equipment and materials timely, in an accurate manner and ensure equipment is delivered in an operational condition Identify gaps and/or discrepancies and provide information on new or changed items and equipment Interprets policies, procedures, manuals and regulations pertaining to lifecycle management and federal acquisition systems Performs other related duties as assigned Work Schedule: 1st shift 7:00AM - 3:30PM; 2nd shift 3:30PM - 12:00AM; 3rd shift 12:00AM - 8:30AM. Driver's License Requirement: This position requires driving to perform the official duties of the position; therefore, a current, valid state-issued driver's license is required. Note: We cannot accept photographs, therefore; please do not submit a copy of your license with your application package. If an interview is requested, you may be required to provide a copy of your current and valid state-issued driver's license. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Mustpossess one (1) full year of specialized experience equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Supply Technician position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS 4). Specialized experience includes: providing supplies and material to clinical and administrative areas of a complex health care facility; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distributing medical and surgical supplies, instruments and other material; pulling stock, replenishing stock and maintaining records on stock levels; monitoring expiration dates; cleaning assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles; utilizing an automated system to maintain inventory; and answers customer questions regarding supplies and materials. (This experience must be documented in your resume to be creditable. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.) OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Must have successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education in excess of 2 years and specialized experience described above may be used to meet total experience requirements. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds). Work requires pushing loaded carts of medical supplies (weighing in excess of 100+ pounds). With proper assistance, moves heavier items' weighing over 40 pounds.
