This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN TITLE 32, Position Description Number NGD1185000 and is part of the TN ARMY, National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 103 (Volunteer Chapter).
Duties
As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (MILITARY) GS-2005-07, you will be responsible for the property book operations of the organization in the areas of inventory management, equipment coordination, and supply management for nonexpendable items. Maintain property book accountability utilizing an automated system and related computer programs to account for property. Establish hand receipt files for each unit, whether separate or organic to the organization, and maintains accountability by the use of hand receipt listings. Schedule, direct, and conduct periodic inspections, inventories and change of hand receipt records to ensure equipment is serviceable, properly stored, maintained and accounted for as required by competent authority. Coordinate with the state level headquarters and subordinate units of the organization on the lateral transfer and/or turn in of excess property. This includes analyzing the proposed transfer/turn in actions and its impact on readiness. Establish quality procedures and oversees the edit of all documents. Ensure documents are accurate and properly input into the automated system. Provide technical guidance and assistance to all organizational logistic personnel pertaining to the formal accountability of all non-expendable property assigned to the organization. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-5 through E-7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year of the next lower grade or at least 12 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.
