This SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR position, is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility and is part of the CA CSMS Stockton.

Duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY PROMOTION POSITION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR. Selectee may be non-competitively promoted permanently if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 5 years if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR, WG-5801-12, is to serve as an inspector of surface maintenance vehicles and equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications.

General Experience: Possess experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work. SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR, WG-5801-12: Must have at least 18 months experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems; Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment; Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems; Experience in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems.
