Duties

Provides oversight and reviews program directives. Reviews Fixed Facility Checklists, self-inspection reports, work requirements, and requests for concept approval for accreditation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Temporary Security Working Areas (TSWA). Through oversight and direction of the 69 RG, develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and security management objectives. Determines eligibility of supported personnel for access to SCI. Coordinates SCI eligibility determinations, special purpose access and compelling need actions with the Command and or Air Force Central Adjudication Facility (AFCAF) prior to indoctrination. Develops and promulgates programs designed and tailored to meet the security needs of supported organizations. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan, implement, and analyze security procedures for physical and personnel security programs within the organization.

  • TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL BE PAID.

  • Incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain a TOP Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification is required with 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security (cont...)
  • This certification requirement only applies to employees hired on to this position on or after 14 March 2016. Incumbent employees assigned on or before 13 March 2016 are not required to obtain the DoD certification(s) listed above.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11. Requires knowledgein a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan, analyze, and implement security procedures for physical and personnel security programs within the organization, as well as resolve difficult and complex security problems. Requires detailed knowledge of DoD, DIA, and other Air Force missions, functions, goals, and objectives. And FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan, implement, and analyze security procedures for physical and personnel security programs within the organization. 2. Knowledge of DOD, DIA, and other Air Force missions, functions, goals, and objectives. 3. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing security information to various audiences, to include line staff and management. 4. Ability to establish and maintain effective relations which foster cooperation, awareness of individual difference, teamwork, and successful accomplishment of the mission. 5. Ability to process very sensitive information about personnel, handling alarm activations, interfacing with civilian, federal, and military police forces, and keeping calm in emergency situations. 6. Ability to effectively plan, assesses, monitor and use various computer programs with diverse applications. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
