About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center Fort Sam Houston, Texas A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Duties

Perform full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties. Assign work and establish priorities; evaluate performance of subordinates; give advice, counsel, and/or instruction to subordinates on both work and administrative matters. Provide individual, group and family therapy and counseling to patients and their families and consultation to members of the health care team. Attend meetings with other services to discuss process improvements.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening may be required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
• One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
