Duties

Performs a variety of supply duties relating to the requisition, receipt, storage, issue, replenishment, inventory, and control of supplies standard medical and non-medical (stocked and non-stocked) items. Forecasts and maintains stock levels and supply flow according to usage rates, delivery time, current demand, items on hand, and cost based on quantities ordered. Prepares requisitions and supporting documents. Reviews material for correctness and possible substitution. Reviews status of actions, changes in requirements, reconcile due outs expedites delivery of urgently required items through correspondence and telephone calls. Serves as vault custodian. Provides guidance and required training to all clinic staff on supply matters. Processes receipts, issues, and turn-ins. Updates stock number, price changes, re-order points, and requisition objectives. Verifies quantity, units of issue, and description of material received against documents. Identifies items deleted or declining in use because of new items or procedures. Researches potential errors in records and reports and initiates action to reconcile or correct errors. Unloads, segregates, and stores incoming supplies. Move supplies to storage rooms and applies special handling procedures as necessary. Locates alternate sources of supplies and substitutes items utilizing federal supply system, General Service Administration (GSA), and vendor catalogs. Uses automated computer supply system software and manual procedures to perform daily dental supply ordering transactions to include Prime Vendor supplies and to order office supplies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • All employees assigned to a MTF are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series, based on occupational risk and are subject to missing/required immunizations IAW AR 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • Incumbent must possess the ability to acquire and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and could be subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
