You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the G4 Logistics Division, MCIWEST-MCB of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will assist in the day-to-day management, operation and maintenance of hazardous material (HM) inventories stored and issued from the Servmart HCP site. You will issue hazardous materials in compliance with the established Authorized Users List (AUL) and Green Substitution guidance. You will build and input data into the Marine Corps approved Hazardous Material management system/database. You will accurately record and label receipts, transfers, issues and disposal of Hazardous Materials through the Marine Corps approved tracking system/database. You will identify, inspect and count hazardous materials inventories, researching materials for Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to include filing and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS). You will conduct research in Federal Logistics (FEDLOG) program for supply pricing, shelf life and units of issue. You will prepare a monthly hazardous material shelf life report for distribution to the tenant commands and base activities, reviewing potential for shelf life extension or reuse for Type ( and Type II Hazardous Materials. You will perform analysis of programs and problems associated with Automated Information Systems (AIS) used to support the CMSVC Servmart Store and HCP daily operations.

  • You will be required to lift moderately heavy objects not to exceed 50 pounds.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a 6,000 lbs. forklift license within; 30 days of employment.
  • You must be able to possess or obtain hazardous material/waster (HAZWOPPER) certifications within 30 days of employment for handling hazardous material to include the storage and delivery of such materials.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the management, operation, maintenance, storage and disposal of hazardous material inventories, building and maintaining program databases, analyzing automated systems for issues and recommending solutions, and training users of the automated information systems for an organization. Master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

Applicant can also qualify through a combination of education and specialized experience, which when combined, equals 100%.
