The Industrial Controls Mechanic performs nonsupervisory work on the control equipment in a computer operated fully automated one million square foot medical center complex.

DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (5 CFR 337.201) for this occupation. DUTIES: Major Duties: Apply a variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to lay out, install, align, and systems that are technically complex. Assemble and install the equipment, connect the power sources, perform operation and functional tests and make required adjustments in order to ensure proper operation of the entire system. Determine the nature and extent of repairs necessary and make needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinishing wom or damaged parts and components. Routinely works with computer programming, PLC programming, and building management control systems. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Various Shifts Position Description Title/PD#: Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic/PD04175O Physical Requirements: Industrial equipment mechanics frequently handle objects weighing 20 kilograms (45 pounds) and occasionally carry objects weighing 50 kilograms (45 pounds) and over considerable distances. They are required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and work in cramped positions over and under machinery of all types for sustained periods of time
